Tips for Drying Your Work Evenly

1. When drying pottery, place a plastic cover over your pots. The more ‘sealed’ the plastic the slower and more even the drying process.

2. Uneven drying causes tension that can crack handles and rims. Wrap handles and rims with plastic to slow down the drying process while leaving the rest of the ceramic exposed to the environment.

3. Wrap handles and rims with plastic to help equalise drying. This slows down the drying process in those areas.

4. Dry pots upside down if you can to even out the drying process. This can be quite useful although impractical at times.
