Uniform drying, rubber gloves and drying your pots

Air currents in a studio can make uniform drying difficult, particularly with large pieces. Try putting a cardboard box over the piece.

August 1991

A piece of rubber glove is ideal to finish a rim. As it stretches it compresses the clay and the coloured rubber is easy to locate amongst the slops.

Dry pots in the wind, but never in the sun.
